Enhance English Teaching with Calligraphy

Explore the integration of modern calligraphy with EFL teaching - it helps enhance student engagement and creativity.

By combining artistic expression with language learning, students improve their fine motor skills, focus, and letter formation. Taking this innovative approach not only enriches the EFL experience but also fosters mindfulness and builds cultural appreciation.

I've been told by my students that the visual appeal of calligraphy gives them a sense of pride in using their English skills to create attractive work. It also offers students more time to work with vocabulary, thereby aiding their retention and language comprehension.

And those are just the benefits for the EFL students! Let's not forget that practicing calligraphy is also a great way for professionals to de-stress after a busy day at work by tuning in to the calming, repetitive motion of the pen while drawing the strokes to make the letters.

Whether it's for your own personal interest or to discover a new skill to teach others, you're welcome to join one of my upcoming taster workshops to learn the basic strokes of modern calligraphy. We'll use standard pens and pencils, making the skills easily transferable to the English classroom. During the taster workshops, participants will create greeting cards.

Catch me in Incheon, Gwangju, or Daejeon to give it a try!
