Do I need any prior experience in Calligraphy to attend the workshop?​

Answer 

Prior experience is not required. The workshop is designed for beginners and those who would like to improve their skills. All are welcome to attend. The lesson shows how to use a brush pen to write the basic strokes of modern calligraphy and then goes on to use the basic strokes to build letters and words.​

Is it possible for lefties to learn modern calligraphy?

Answer

It is definitely possible for lefties to learn modern calligraphy! I have taught both left and right handed students. Most of my personal experience doing modern calligraphy is with my dominant right hand, but I also taught myself to use my left hand. Please let me know if you're left handed so I can make sure to save you a comfortable seat with sufficient elbow room.

 

Question

I have messy handwriting. Can I still learn Modern Brush Pen Calligraphy?

Answer

Absolutely! Doing calligraphy uses a different skill than writing in cursive. In this workshop, you'll develop the skills to draw the strokes to create beautiful calligraphy.

 

Question

I'm not very creative or artistic, will I be able to make calligraphy that looks nice?

Answer

You don't need to consider yourself artistic or creative to enjoy mindfully writing calligraphy. Through guided practice, you'll learn techniques to make lettering that looks beautifully artistic.

Question

I booked a workshop ticket but can't attend. Is it possible to change the date or get a refund?

Answer

Unfortunately that is not possible. But if you absolutely cannot attend, you are able to transfer your place to a friend. Please let me know if you need to do so well in advance of the workshop so I can edit any personalisation of the supplies.

What is included in the cost of the workshop?

Answer

Along with the in-person lesson, you will receive a specially designed workbook and supplies required to get comfortable with the pen and to create a project with your newly learned skills during the workshop. You'll also be able to take your resources home with you to use afterwards.
